1. Concept

Discipline is based on two types:

  • Habit: the way we do things regularly, hard to change
  • Force: everyone has to follow the harsh rules to keep safety

2. Rule

The habit

To form, Habit is based on two machanism:

  • Reward
  • Repeating

Examples:

  • Why do we usually brush our teeth?
  • Why do we drink coffee every morning?
  • Why do we turn on the TV after we go home from the school?

→ Because every Habits always has rewards that easy to see, easy to achieve, easy to maintain.

Thanks to Dopamine - Hormone Motivation since:

  • Training Axon, Myelin and Synapse everytime we get rewards
  • Training the Stability, Speed and Connection of the Mind everytime we get rewards

Result

Habits aren’t only formed from the Repeating, they also are supported by the Rewards that easy to see, easy to achieve, easy to maintain

The Forcing

To form, Forcing is based on this machanism:

  • Anterior Mid Cingulate Cortex (aMCC) - the part of brain helps forcing ourselve
  • This is the place that handle the conflict and coercion behaviour - a center system to control the willing

Examples:

  • Why do I wake up soon to study even through I’m sleepy?
  • Why do I still work even through I don’t like?
  • Why do I keep excersing even through I don’t see the result?
  • Why do I keep working even through the boss hasn’t paid your salary before?
